DAY 238 & 239

Apr 27/28

1) I have been a bit busy preparing for my Anatomy Practical today, which explains why I didn't update my blog yesterday. Nothing much happened yesterday that was of interest, other than that I was studying for pretty much the entire day. Today's practical exam would be of paramount importance, since it contributed a significant amount to the FUN2, GIHEP and REGUB modules.

2) In addition to that, the anatomy stuff we covered here would also be asked in the MCQ paper for all three modules. So it was really important to make sure I went through all the lectures. For this, I came to RCSI earlier than usual and continued revising, just before the exam. At 9.00am, our group was called in, and I was sent to one of the tables.

3) There were two prosectors, and they had been allocated 4 minutes each to cover all three modules (FUN2, GIHEP, and REGUB). It all passed by so fast, and before I knew it, I was out the door and making my way to the Coffee Doc to grab my bags. Part of me is a little upset, as I knew I could have done better, but at that point in time that was the best I could do. Nothing else but to focus on the next exam - which is our FUN2 exam, on May 2nd.

4) I returned to the library and had a short nap. I woke up feeling much better, and started going through the lectures for REGUB and FUN2. These are the next two exams, and only two days apart of each other. There isn't much time left to revise, so I have to allocate my time wisely. After these two exams, there would only be two left - GIHEP and HBPS. And then - bliss! But of course, I shall take things one step at a time. I'll end on that note, and thanks for reading. Have a nice day, cheers!

Day 220

Apr 9

1) Today has been another day for me in the library. I was up cooking all night, so I arrived later than usual at the library. As usual, it was time for some study, so I revised anatomy.

2) Anatomy has taken up most of my studying time, seeing as our second exam for the finals is Anatomy Practicals, just after our OSCEs. And that's what I've been covering for most of the day. In the evening, I did go out to Dunnes (again haha) to get some more groceries for the week. Came back to have my dinner, before it was back to square one.

3) The rest of the night was just a bit more studying, and me enjoying a light supper. There's no lessons tomorrow, which means I will not have to wake up early tomorrow. Although I probably will anyway. That would be the end to one of my less exciting days, but then again, it's nearing our exams and there's really not much left to do. That rounds up my day today, and thanks for reading as always. Have a great day, cheers!

The flowers are really starting to bloom and look pretty <3 <3 <3

That was the end result of my cooking yesterday ^^

DAY 148

Jan 27

1) Today is Chinese New Year's Eve in Dublin! And here I am, enjoying my 9-4 lectures as usual XD. Woke up early to make the 9am class as usual, and our first lecture was on anatomy, specifically on the leg. After that, we went to the Anatomy Room, where we got the opportunity to dissect and reflect the muscles and tendons, as well as explore the nerves and vessels underneath. There will soon be an interfaith celebration to commemorate the deceased - who very generously donated their bodies that we medical students may dissect and learn from - and I intend to take part.

2) After our Anatomy Practicals, I went to Mercer Medical Centre to get my blood test done. I previously had my three vaccinations for Hepatitis B, so this was to confirm that I had immunity against the disease. It was over very soon, and I walked back to the Coffee Doc to do some study, while waiting for my friends to finish their Anatomy Practicals (they were in a different group than me). At 1.00pm, we met up and went to Dicey's Garden together. It has been so long since I went to Dicey's - and it tasted awesome after such a long hiatus haha.

3) Made it back just in time for the next two lectures - one on Health Behaviour and Patient Safety, and the other on Immunology. By 4.00pm, everyone was just so tired that we couldn't wait to go home. I went to the library instead, as I was going over to Nee Kee's apartment later to celebrate our very own Reunion Dinner with my friends. Later in the evening, I went over to meet my friends, and we had a whale of a time tossing the Yee Sang (a raw fish salad dish). After dinner, we set about folding some paper hand fans, before heading out to McDonald's for some ice-cream. I didn't have any because I was quite full. Walked back home with Jason after that, and finished by typing this out.
That's all for tonight's blog update, and before I sign off,

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!! GONG XI FA CAI! Wishing everybody a very happy and prosperous New Year in the Year of the Rooster, and have a great weekend. Cheers! :D

DAY 68

Nov 8

1) Today was an easy day for me, just like yesterday. Got up, had breakfast, before heading for lessons at RCSI. I finally got reimbursed for my trip to Cork, which is awesome since I didn't think I could get a refund. Sat down for lectures, including Anatomy Practicals (today we did the hand region) and by 1.00 pm, we were done for the day.

2) It was raining fairly heavily when I decided to have lunch at Dicey's. Tried out the roasted beef with horseradish sauce, and it was awesome. Thick slices of beef drowned in hot, rich sauce - comfort food if ever there was one!

3) Came back home to clean up, study a bit, and have a short nap. Woke up and continued preparing for our Principal Seminar event, which is this Thursday. Glad to be finishing soon. For dinner, I reheated the lamb rogan josh with pilau rice, and supplemented that with some veggies and an orange, to make it more balanced. Returned to my room to study/ surf the net, and that is all for tonight hehe. Once again, thanks very much for reading, and have a great day/night. Cheers!
