DAY 247

May 6

1) So far, so good. I've covered as many lectures as possible, but I know I won't be able to finish them by tonight. Ideally, I wanted to have tomorrow as a sort of revision day, where I consolidate everything I learnt so far. However, that would not be possible. So I'm going to finish as much as I can tonight, and then continue with the remainder tomorrow. And then if I still have time, I'll do some revision (of my revision haha).

2) It's just two days more till my exam, which means I really have nothing much to add. Everyone I know is studying in the library, and it really helps seeing them here, as it goes to show that everyone is in the same boat. I have some bittersweet news to share, but I'll just wait until after the exam. You know, just to keep the suspense going... Thanks for reading, and have a great day. Cheers!

DAY 158

Feb 6

1) Today has been really mentally draining for me. I know we have had many 9-5 lectures at RCSI, but still after each lecture I lose yet more concentration, and by the final one I'm pretty much gone. So I came over to RCSI after breakfast, and sat down for the first three lectures.

2) After a one-hour lunch break, it was another four consecutive hours of lecture, a mix of HBPS, FUN2  and Immunopharmacology lectures. And at five, surprise surprise - group meeting, to discuss for the latest event, RCSI International Night, where we will performing a couple of dances to showcase Malaysian culture to everyone. Really looking forward to that...

3) Once meeting ended, packed my stuff and went to Mercer Library, where I had my dinner. Then I had to compile notes for today's lectures, plus read up a little on tomorrow's ones as well. I'm NOT looking forward to tomorrow's 8.00am lecture XD. I guess I need to get cracking, or my assignments won't finish themselves haha. That's all for today, and thanks very much for reading. Cheers!

DAY 139

Jan 18

1) Today has been a really long day for me. Woke up with a sore throat, which I absolutely dread because it usually comes with bouts of flu and fits of cough for days afterward. Still, I don't have a choice but to continue enduring... Gargled lots of saltwater after breakfast, before going to the library.

2) The upside was that I have two days off, which should give me enough time to sort things out. I studied for pretty much the entire morning, and my friends Nee Kee and Stephanie came to study too. I had my usual rice with sausages and mixed veggies for lunch; that being the last of my cooked meals. That means I have to cook again tonight.

3) In the afternoon, I continued studying for a while, before taking a short nap and then surfing the Internet. Later, I went to Dunnes to buy the groceries I needed to cook for the next couple of days. Came back to the library and had my dinner - just some sandwiches I made for myself in the morning. I really don't feel like eating whenever my throat hurts haha.

4) For the rest of the night, I tried to study but just couldn't find the strength to do so. Instead, I spent some time typing out this blog post, while listening to some relaxing music. I will probably leave the library earlier tonight, so I can cook afterwards and also because I want to get a good rest before lectures starts again. That's all for today, and thanks as always for reading. Cheers!

DAY 112

Dec 22

1) Today was another very enjoyable day. Woke up and had my breakfast, before heading over to the library. Skyped with my parents for a long while, before terminating the conversation as I had to go out soon.

2) Had my lunch at AK. Henry's, before going out with my friends to book our first trip (next Thurs) to Powerscourt. Walked all the way to Moore Market, where I bought 12 oranges for €2, a bargain if you ask me. Returned to Khee Heng's apartment, where we watched #2, Fate/Stay Night.

3) By around 5pm, Khee Heng had to go as he was expecting a visitor. That left just me, so I continued watching YouTube vids and listening to songs. I had scones from AK Henry's for dinner, and had an orange after that. A cup of Milo (courtesy of Khee Heng) and I was full.

4) At night, had some cookies and tea. Soon after that, packed my stuff and returned back home. That has been my day, and I hope you enjoyed reading about it. Have a great day, cheers!

DAY 89

Nov 29

1) Today has been another taxing day for me. Got up and left for RCSI, where I had a bowl of porridge for breakfast (at AK. Henry's). Then, I started my studies until about 11am, when there was a revision session on Short Note Questions. Most of my friends attended too, and it was a productive hour which we spent there.

2) I bought a packet of sandwiches for lunch, and continued my studies until mid-afternoon. Then, I packed my books and headed to the library, where I further revised my notes until my brain was saturated. That doesn't mean I absorbed a lot; it just means I couldn't take in anymore information.

3) So I decided to call it a day, and went to Dunnes to do my groceries. Bought lots of oranges (for my sore throat) and some bread and cookies. Came back home and made some bread with jam for dinner. Somehow my appetite is drastically reduced when my throat is sore. Anyway, freshened up after that, and here I am, typing this out. I may or may not continue studying - only time will tell haha. That's all for the day, and thanks for reading. Cheers!

DAY 70

Nov 10

1) Today was a tiring day for me. Had breakfast early in the morning, before proceeding to practice, practice and practice for our Principal Seminars. At around ten, got into my fancy outfit (it had to be formal) before walking to RCSI. Principal Seminar lasted for almost two hours, and each of us got a chance to deliver our speech, which consisted of one topic randomly chosen from ten topics.

2) I was the first to be called up. My topic was the role of tamoxifen as a partial agonist in treating breast cancer. Spoke for the allotted time, before trying my best to answer the resulting questions. After the seminar, our examiners gave us some feedback, and told us that as a team we had done a great job. My heart leapt for joy upon hearing that, as I felt all of us had already tried our best.

3) For my celebratory lunch(!), I went to Dicey's Garden. Today I tried the roasted pork chops, and boy did they taste great. I am not a fussy eater, but I have to admit that today's meal was extra delicious, maybe because of the immense burden off me haha. Came back home to have my bath, before Skyping with my parents for an hour or so.

4) Returned to my room for a short nap, and then it's back to the old grind, so to speak haha. I guess that's the life of a medical student here at RCSI. Anyways, tomorrow I have an appointment at Mercer Medical Centre, where they will do a blood test, and later on in the evening I'll be leaving for Mt. Errigal on a hiking trip. I guess there's that to be looking forward to haha. That's all for today, and thank you for reading. Goodnight!

Today I was feeling like Pork Chops haha
