DAY 16

Sept 17

1) Today I woke up at 5.00 a.m.! I mistakenly thought it was 11.00 p.m., as I very carelessly read my watch upside down haha. After that, I found it difficult to sleep back. Anyway, my cousin Wilson, along with two of his friends, came to visit. He drove all the way from Belfast to take me out on a day trip, for which I am very grateful.

2) The first thing we did was to go for breakfast at Elephant & Castle, located on Temple Bar. I sampled the Elephant Burger, which turned out to be extremely filling! I didn't even need to have lunch after that. We also shared the cafe's famous chicken wings, with celery and sour cream. They were out of this world!

3) With brunch covered, one of our friends, a TCD student, gave us a thorough tour around Trinity College Dublin. Again I wanted to enter the famous library, but the overwhelming number of people quickly changed my mind. Another day then, sighh. So we explored Trinity, including the medical faculty and lecture theatre. Then we decided to have coffee at 3fe, a cafe that specialises in different types of coffee. Apparently, the coffee which my friend helped order for me consisted of coffee beans all the way from Bolivia! A first time experience indeed!

4) We continued on foot to the River Liffey, where we stopped to pose for pictures at the various bridges there. Next, we entered an area celebrating Oktoberfest. Didn't really do much, except take lots of pics with my trusty Nikon. Soon it was time for dinner. So we proceeded to a Korean restaurant called Drunken Fish, in Dublin 1. I tried the bulgogi bibimbap and we shared a large seafood hotpot. Needless to say, we were full to the brim after that!

5) After a fun yet exhausting day out, it was time to say goodbye to my cousin and newfound friends. Wilson very kindly drove me back to my apartment before sending the rest back and returning to Belfast himself. As for me, I'm sleeping early since I plan to jog again tomorrow. I need to burn off some of the extra calories haha! Thank you for reading, and have a great night!

P.S. Keep scrolling to the very bottom since I took a TON of photos today. Enjoy :)
