DAY 12

Sept 13

1) Today was another one of those "normal days". Woke up early-since class starts at nine, had breakfast and attended the one hour lecture on biomedicine. At ten, we were introduced to our personal tutors. Mine is Dr. Natasha Rafter, a specialist in public health medicine. We had a small icebreaking session before she gave us a tour of her office at Beau Lane House.

2) After that, we were free for the rest of the day, or so we thought. Me and my friends went to enquire about our bank details at AIB Bank. Unfortunately, my ATM card wasn't ready yet so I will have to pay them a visit again later.

3) We discovered a Subway restaurant at Grafton Street which had an offer; a six-inch sub with drink, for only €4. I tried the tuna while my friends had the tika masala. I'm not sure if it was the cold weather, but it tasted really good! After that, it was back home to rest and have a quick study.

4) It turned out that we DID have an event in the evening- an English proficiency test from 5.30 to 7.00 pm! The first test we would have and it had nothing to do with medicine- great, I thought. Anyways, it was challenging but the pressure was on since we would be required to take additional lessons on English if we did not pass it.

5) Had dinner afterwards at The Noodle House. I ordered the 4-in-1 combo with chicken, beef and chips. It was okay, I guess. I might try something else next time. Finished up, went back to RCSI only to find out that the Life Raft Debate which I wanted to go to was already over. Oh well, there's always a next time. Walked all the way back home to type this out. My brain is fried after today's "exam". Need to recharge the batteries. Goodnight!
