DAY 90

Nov 30

1) Today was another boring day for me, but the upside is my sore throat is almost completely gone! Finally can focus more on exams haha. So I got up early, had a quick breakfast (two slices of toast), and went to the library to study until noon.

2) The PMCSA Committee (which I helped out for their Farewell Dinner a couple of days back) very generously decided to treat the volunteers to a nice lunch at The Cedar Tree, a Lebanese restaurant. I had their 2-course meal, with 'hommos' as appetizer, and lamb kafta (I think) for mains, and for beverages I tried their authentic Lebanese Coffee. All in all, it was a fine meal, and vindication that the Student Association did care for its staff XD

3) Some of my friends went to "Network", a cafe selling really nice coffee. I tried the cappuccino and really enjoyed the rich, creamy taste. Unfortunately this wasn't covered so it came out of my pocket haha. Came back to study, and found the library entrance crowded with loads of people. Turned out that there were a couple of therapy dogs brought in, to help distress dog-loving medical students haha. They were so obedient and adorable...

4) After another bout of studying, I went out to dinner. Met my friend Kuhan on the way, and he introduced me to a fast food chain called Fogo's. I had their Donner Kebab for €3.99, and it was really quite filling. Came back, had a nice chat with my friend Hon Wa who's in UK now, and then typed this out. I'm feeling a lot better today, and that may explain why today's article is longer than usual. That's all for today though, and thanks for reading. Cheers!

Nothing like toast to start the day! ^^

DAY 89

Nov 29

1) Today has been another taxing day for me. Got up and left for RCSI, where I had a bowl of porridge for breakfast (at AK. Henry's). Then, I started my studies until about 11am, when there was a revision session on Short Note Questions. Most of my friends attended too, and it was a productive hour which we spent there.

2) I bought a packet of sandwiches for lunch, and continued my studies until mid-afternoon. Then, I packed my books and headed to the library, where I further revised my notes until my brain was saturated. That doesn't mean I absorbed a lot; it just means I couldn't take in anymore information.

3) So I decided to call it a day, and went to Dunnes to do my groceries. Bought lots of oranges (for my sore throat) and some bread and cookies. Came back home and made some bread with jam for dinner. Somehow my appetite is drastically reduced when my throat is sore. Anyway, freshened up after that, and here I am, typing this out. I may or may not continue studying - only time will tell haha. That's all for the day, and thanks for reading. Cheers!

DAY 88

Nov 28

1) Today was a long, tiring day for me. Woke up and had my breakfast, before going to Mercer Library to study for pretty much the entire day.

2) To top it all off, I got a sore throat, which then made it more difficult to concentrate, not to mention the cough that accompanied it. Went out for lunch with my good friend Nee Kee, and stumbled into another friend, Hong, at Dicey's.

3) In spite of the soreness, the food tasted great as usual. Came back to the library afterwards, and studied until evening for our finals next week. At around six, I packed up my stuff and returned home. I'm probably going to take it easy tonight, and hope that I get better tomorrow so I can continue studying. Thanks very much for reading, and goodnight. Cheers!

DAY 87

1) Today was such an EXCITING day! Woke up super early, after sleeping at around 2am the same morning. Anyways, I made the decision to walk all the way to Hueston Station, before taking the trip to Kent Station, Cork! The walk took me about 45 min, but I had no choice since the buses don't operate that early.

2) Met up with my friend and debate partner, Kuhan, and we bought breakfast before boarding the same train together. On board, we discussed our final strategies for the debate "THBT Communities of Gang Violence Should Not Cooperate with the Police". We then had to change trains at Mallow, before finally reaching Cork at half past eleven.

3) Took the nearest cab to University College Cork, and reached with time to spare. The debate started soon enough, and we were side Opening Government. Tried our very best, and we ended up third place. Unfortunately, only the top two teams will carry on the Irish Leg of the debate, so we are out of contention. Still, the experience counts for so much more.

4) Kuhan decided to take the 3.20pm train back, while I was on the 4.20pm one. So I passed by St. Patrick's Street, taking photos of various locations, and had lunch at The Fish Wife. Really good student deal for €5 - fish and chips. Quickly walked back to Kent Station, and sat the long journey home...

5) Had a nice doner kebab for dinner at Hot Chilli, before walking the rest of the leg home. Absolutely dreadful to my legs, but still an awesome experience nonetheless. I have accomplished so much since coming to Ireland, but now it is time to focus on my exams. That's all for tonight, and thanks for reading. Enjoy the pics, cheers!
